New groups kick off every 4–6 weeks.

Great Work Isn't the Problem.

If you run a production company or creative studio, you're probably very good at producing the work.

That's where most of your time and attention goes.

Client calls. Estimates. Pre-production. Production. Post. Delivery. Then on to the next one.

But how much time are you actually spending building the company?

  • Getting clear on what you want to be known for.

  • Deciding which clients you actually want.

  • Building offers around what they need.

  • Marketing the company.

Who This is for

The Sprint is for filmmakers already running a studios, but rarely have enough time to actually work on building it.

  • You're already doing paid client work and have an established body of work.

  • You're running a small studio, production company, or growing creative business.

  • You're getting work, but it's inconsistent or too dependent on referrals.

  • You're ready to build a more deliberate way to attract, win, and serve clients.

You're already producing the work.
Now put that same intention into building the company.

New groups kick off every 4–6 weeks.

“On a practical level, one coaching call alone helped me turn a potential project into $3,000 in recurring bookings. What really stands out is Jonathan himself. He brings real-world experience, but more importantly, he’s honest, genuinely invested, and someone you want in your corner.

Terese B.

“Jonathan's Founder sprint was incredible and a breakthrough for me on how to treat my craft and creativity like a business. I learned so much and would happily take it again to continue unleveling. Jonathan is a great coach and listener and really gets it.”

Liz H.

“Jonathan’s really really good at cutting through the noise and getting to what actually matters. The sessions were focused and practical, not theoretical. Being with a small group of experienced pros was a big plus too!”

Mike H.

“Great, great, great mentor! Jonathan's knowledge and experience are incredible, and his kindness stands above all else.”

Esteban C.

Four sessions. One clear progression.

Who are we? → Who needs us? → What are we selling? → How do we keep opportunities coming?

Session 1 — What Do You Want to Be Known for?

Get clear on what should lead, what makes you valuable, and how you want the market to understand your company.

Stop letting the projects that happen to come in define the company you're building.

Session 2 — Find Your Best Clients

Identify the companies and decision-makers most likely to value what you do, why they hire companies like yours, and where the strongest opportunities are.

Get clear about exactly who you're trying to reach — and why.

Session 3 — Make It Easy to Buy

Shape what you're selling, how you package and price it, and the process that takes someone from interested to client.

Make it easier for the right client to understand your value and say yes.

Session 4 — Build Momentum

Turn everything we've built into a practical system for marketing, outreach, relationships, and follow-up.

Stop waiting for the next referral. Build a business-development system you can keep running.

What’s Included

  • 30-minute 1:1 kickoff call before the Sprint begin

  • Four live small-group sessions over 30 days

  • Direct access to me between sessions for questions and feedback

  • Ongoing feedback and guidance as you put the work into practice

  • Workbooks, planners, templates, and resources to help you build as we go

This isn't four calls and a pile of homework. We're building the business together over 30 days.

After the Four Weeks

The Sprint is designed to give you a system you can keep running on your own.

If you want to keep the momentum going, you'll have the option to stay in the Director's Cut community, continue joining the weekly AMA meetups and working sessions, and keep building alongside other filmmakers through an optional monthly membership.

By the End of 30 Days, You'll Have:

  • Clear positioning around what you want to be known for

  • A defined group of ideal clients you know how to pursue

  • An offer that's easy to understand, price, and buy

  • Simple systems for marketing, outreach, and follow-up

  • A clear plan for what to do next

Less reacting to whatever comes in. More intention about what comes next.

Questions

The Founder Sprint is designed for people who are already building and running a company — a production company, creative studio, agency, or other filmmaking business.

If you're primarily working independently and want to build a stronger business around your own skills and reputation, the Solo Studio System is probably a better fit.

You don't need a big team, office, or huge client list.

But you should already be doing professional client work and have a real business in motion. The Sprint isn't about starting from scratch. It's about getting much more intentional about the company you've already started building.

That's incredibly common — and one of the reasons the Founder Sprint exists.

Referrals can build a great business, but they also leave you with very little control over what comes through the door. We'll work on positioning, offers, marketing, outreach, and follow-up so you're not relying entirely on the next referral to keep the pipeline moving.

We work on your actual business.

Each session focuses on a different part of the company — what you want to be known for, the clients you want to pursue, what you're selling, and how you're going to consistently create opportunities.

You'll make decisions, build the pieces, put them into practice between sessions, and come back the following week ready to keep moving.

They're intentionally small. This isn't a webinar or a class with dozens of people watching.

The goal is to give everyone enough time to work through their actual business, ask questions, get feedback, and learn from what the other founders in the room are building.

No problem. We'll make sure you have what you need to keep moving, and you'll continue working with the group through the rest of the Sprint.

Why I Built the Founder Sprint

You know, I've been doing this for more than 25 years.

And for most of that time, I thought the hard part was making better work. Building a better reel. Getting better clients.

And if I kept doing that, somehow the business part was going to take care of itself.

For a long time, I thought referrals were all the marketing I was ever going to need.

And honestly, that worked for a long time.

But somewhere along the way, I realized that being a great filmmaker and actually building a great business are two completely different skills.

Nobody taught me how to figure out who my best clients were, what I wanted to be known for, how to market the company, or how to build a real business-development system.

I had to figure that out as I went.

And that's why I built the Founder Sprint.

It's for filmmakers and video professionals who are already running production companies and creative studios.

You're already good at producing the work.

The question is: how much time are you actually spending building the company?

Over 30 days, we meet four times in a small group and work on the business together.

We get clear about what you want to be known for, who your best clients are, what you're selling, and then build a practical system for marketing, outreach, and follow-up.

And we're not just talking about it.

We're working on your actual business.

You bring what you're working on, what's not working, and the real decisions you're trying to make.

So at the end of 30 days, you don't just have a better idea of what you should be doing.

You've actually started doing it.

Basically, it's the workshop I wish somebody had built for me 20 years ago.
